Living Room - Design Plan

I shared before pictures and details of our living room design plan in this post. Here are the moodboards I created as a general guide for this space, but I haven't stuck too closely to them.

New Sectional, Rug, and Tree

I replaced our old gray sectional with this one from Ikea. I'll share a more detailed review in a later post, but so far so good. I paired it with this fluffy blue rug. I love how it grounds the space and contrasts the creamy white/grey sectional.

I added a wall art set I've had for years to the back wall. I'm enjoying the simplicity for now, but it would be fun to do a gallery wall down the road. You may have noticed our newest green family member in the back. It's a real-life Schefflera tree (also known as an umbrella tree), and she is extra and dramatic in the best way. Cross your fingers that I can keep her alive.

Fireplace Alcoves

If you follow me on Instagram, then you've already seen a peak at what I've done with the fireplace alcoves. I tucked my Studio McGee cabinets on each side and mounted two floating shelves above each cabinet. The combination provides much-needed storage for books and my favorite decor pieces.
